Regarding - Sharpe Builders/New Construction 

We purchased a piece of land here in the city in 2007 and began the tasks involved with building a new home. Although we have owned a number of homes, building a home was a first time experience for us. Even before the excavation process begins, there is a multitude of paperwork; building permits, watercourse alteration permits, banking and mortgage draw schedules to complete. This is followed by hundreds of decisions which will be need to be made around the finishing work. This process can quickly take the sheen off the any new home-owner's dream of building their own home.

It is clear that Sharpe Builder's take great pride in their workmanship: after all, with each new project the reputation of the company is on the line. We were impressed with the quality and detail of the interior finishing work. We have a beautiful new, energy efficient home which captures our spectacular view.

Many people I have spoken with who have built a new home, advise me that they would not repeat this experience as they found it both time consuming and stressful. Our experience was quite the opposite. This speaks to the positive relationship we developed with our builder and our delight with the finished product.

Recently we hired Sharpe Builders for structural and deck work at a summer cottage. Part of the challenge was matching new construction to old and in doing so Sharpe Builders demonstrated amazing craftsmanship and expertise. The work was seamless and the outcome was incredible. From beginning to end the crew was very professional, organized and met all deadlines.

Allan was a pleasure to work with and was always there when we needed to talk to him. He is honest, approachable, knowledgeable, does great work and is very reliable. We love the deck…everyone loves the deck…I wish I had a dollar every time someone said what a great deck we have!

I wanted to take a moment and let you know how happy we are with our new home. A person’s home is, without a doubt, one of life’s greatest personal expenses and the process of building a new home can be very involved and consuming.

Working with Sharpe Builders was a pleasant and worry-free experience, even for a demanding customer like myself. I visited the project every day since the beginning, sometimes twice a day. It became very evident early on that the tradespeople you use are of the highest caliber. And the finished product reflects this level of craftsmanship. I was very surprised to observe details that no other builder would incorporate without prompting from the customer. But you did it without prompting, and when we would inquire the answer was always to have a better finished result. And any issues raised along the way were addressed and resolved promptly and professionally.

Our new home is a testament to Quality, and the feeling we have is one of peace of mind. Thank you and your team for your high standards and attention to detail. We now have a superior home that is sure to bring us many years of efficient living with very low maintenance.

Proud owners of a new Sharpe Home,

We have had several occasions to hire Sharpe Builders.  The first was to do some major renovations to the 30+ year old home we had purchased to make it work more efficiently for us.  Sharpe Builders won the bid for the work; completed all work efficiently; and met our pre-agreed schedule and budget with minor additions to the budget based on our desire for additional work. There were many things that set them apart from other builders including:  their attention to detail; their suggestions that improved the functionality of our home at no additional cost; and their staff, who were pleasant and went out of their way to ensure we had full use of our home during their renovations.  During this renovation work, they identified and corrected several preexisting (and hidden) safety issues, with minimal impact to the overall budget.  Sharpe Builders were a pleasure to deal with and the renovations improved the functionality of the house and ultimately its resale value.

Because of this great experience, when we decided a few years later to have a new home built in the city, we selected Sharpe Builders for the task.  Due to the larger expense of building a home, we checked in with our lawyer about Allan’s reputation compared to other builders we were considering.  Our lawyer indicated that, of the builders we were considering,  Allan was by far the best choice for a variety of reasons. This second project was much bigger than the first – to build a 5000 sq ft home on a piece of property that we had purchased from another developer. Again Sharpe Builders staff were excellent, as were their subcontractors.  The work was finished on schedule with some additional budget required due to changes that we made during the project.  Allan provided experienced recommendations throughout the project when we asked, however he was never pushy.  Allan is very direct and demanding of his staff and subs and responded quickly to our questions and requests.  This helped expedite the work and we always felt that we were well looked after.  Sharpe Builders also worked well with other suppliers we hired directly, for instance Focal Point Landscape Design and Installation and Mario’s Pool and Spas.  With Focal Point, Sharpe Builders ensured the drainage on our property was adequate to keep water away from our house going beyond the recommendations provided in the subdivision plan.  Sharpe Builder’s worked with Mario’s to ensure the aboveground pool had a proper base and was integrated effectively into the large deck Sharpe Builder’s built.  After 6 years living in the house, we are very satisfied with the end product and the experience of working with Sharpe Builders. 

We have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone looking for an excellent renovation or home.  In fact, if we build another home in the Fredericton area, we will be calling on them to do the work.
